Real-time webhook
An HMAC-verified endpoint with replay protection. Permanent failures mark the trace bounced, bump the count and blacklist the address; soft failures are counted only.

Your bounce rate isn't zero. Odoo just can't see it.
You send through Mailgun, so Mailgun catches every hard bounce, spam complaint and unsubscribe. But none of it flows back into Odoo, so every mailing reads bounced = 0, dead addresses get re-mailed forever, and your sender reputation quietly erodes.

Every event Mailgun sees gets verified, logged, and applied to the right trace and contact, automatically. Permanent failures blacklist the address; soft failures are counted, never blacklisted. Your bounce numbers become real, and your lists get clean.

Suppression backfill
One click (or a nightly cron) pulls Mailgun's existing bounce, complaint and unsubscribe lists and mirrors them into your blacklist, cleaning historical blind spots.

No double-counting
Every event is recorded for audit, but only deliverability events mutate state. Idempotent and safe to retry: opens stay on Odoo's own tracking, never counted twice.
