Terms of Service

Last updated: July 3, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the software, license keys, websites, and hosted services (together, the "Services") offered by Practical Business Machines, a DBA of Chris Clasby ("PBM," "we," "us"). By using the Services or purchasing a license, you agree to these Terms.

1. The products and their licenses

PBM offers several products with different licenses. The applicable license controls where it conflicts with these Terms:

2. Accounts and license keys

License keys are issued per purchase and may be bound to a limited number of instances. You are responsible for keeping your key confidential and for activity under it. A key that is shared, resold, or used beyond its instance limit may be suspended.

3. Payment, billing, and subscriptions

Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; PBM does not store your full card details. One-time purchases are charged once; subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled and may be charged off-session to your saved payment method. Prices are exclusive of taxes unless stated, and you are responsible for applicable taxes. See our Refund Policy.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or circumvent license or security mechanisms of the paid products; (b) use the Services to violate law or infringe others' rights; or (c) resell or sublicense the Services except as the applicable license permits.

5. Intellectual property

Except for rights granted under an applicable open-source or commercial license, PBM and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in the Services, including the hosted logic, tool schemas, and data engines.

6. Third-party services

The Services integrate third parties (e.g. Stripe for payments, your chosen LLM provider, Mailgun, analytics). Your use of those is governed by their terms, and PBM is not responsible for them.

7. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. PBM products assist with business and financial tasks but do not constitute tax, accounting, legal, or professional advice; you are responsible for reviewing outputs (including any tax computed, books findings, or automated actions) before relying on them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PBM will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and PBM's total liability arising out of the Services will not exceed the amounts you paid to PBM for the Services in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or the applicable license. Open-source components you already hold remain governed by their open-source license.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules.
